Birds are stars of Kenilworth attraction

If you're at a bit of a loose end this weekend, then you might want to get yourself down to Kenilworth Castle in Warwickshire. Its stunning Elizabethan garden has finally been recreated, after five years of hard work and it's opening to the public tomorrow (Saturday, May 2). The best part of the garden has to be its fabulous aviary, which is currently home to six Lizard canaries, two Guineafowl and three pheasants. One of the pheasants has already laid eggs. The site, which also covers birds of prey and backyard poultry, is by no means a replacement for proper veterinary treatment, but it can offer good advice on your ill or injured birds. As always, when it comes to sick or injured birds, you should give your local vet a call. They can often just give you advice and peace of mind over the phone free of charge.
